Conceived not as a machine, but as part of the architecture — a 2-meter horizontal composition designed to live within the space, not dominate it. A sliding smoked plexiglass panel reveals a fully integrated system: turntable, radio, amplifier — all seamlessly embedded within a minimalist metal structure. Produced in very limited numbers, the Linearetta challenged the entire concept of Hi-Fi in the 1960s — transforming technology into furniture, and furniture into experience. @chinaminutes 🇨🇳 Beijing is set to host a human vs. robot half-marathon, as new test runs show just how quickly humanoid robots are improving. 📍 On April 19 at 7:30am, more than 300 humanoid robots from 26 companies will run the 21.1km course alongside around 12,000 human participants in Beijing’s E-Town. The route spans city roads, racetrack sections and park terrain, designed to test performance in real conditions. ⚡ The progress over one year is quite impressive: In April 2025, a leading humanoid robot completed a half-marathon in 2 hours 40 minutes. By April 2026, a robot called “Lightning” finished the same distance in under 54 minutes, reflecting major gains in speed, stability and navigation. 🧠 Beyond the race, the event serves as a benchmark for real-world capability. @miniaturesbyellie You may have seen my video where I made this miniature blue chair but if you haven’t, I’ll keep a very long story short. A few weeks ago I was admitted to urgent care with extremely high blood pressure and vision problems. As someone with a shed ton of chronic illnesses, I prepared myself to be sat in a waiting room for hours only to be told im fine and to go home. And that is what happened but somehow worse? My blood pressure wasn’t checked past triage, my eyes weren’t looked at for hours and when I told them I suffer with chronic migraines but this wasn’t one, they discharged me an hour later, refusing a ct scan because it was “a migraine” 🙂. It wasn’t, it turned out to be a severe Mast Cell Activation Flare up causing so much adrenaline to flow through me, I couldn’t function. I couldn’t see, I couldn’t think, I couldn’t sleep and if I did it was nightmare after nightmare. This doesn’t even cover a fraction of my experience that day, it was truly awful. After I was discharged, I sat on this singular blue chair they had outside and I cried. What the hell was I meant to do? I’d been sent to urgent care by 111 because my blood pressure was reaching hypertensive crisis and yet apparently nothing was wrong with me? I said in my video, imagine the outrage if someone with a compound fracture turned up to a&e and the doctors took one look and went “no you’re fine go home”. This is what’s happening every single day to the chronically ill community. I was sat on the chair feeling so broken thinking how many people like me had sat in this very spot, invisible, broken and denied treatment. Since I posted the video, I have had hundreds of heartbreaking stories from people with the same experience as me. This isn’t good enough, we cannot keep being ignored. We can’t keep going into appointments looking for help only to end up teaching doctors what our conditions are. We can’t keep going into debt just by trying to survive. Newsweek and TIME ran the story. Then NASA picked it for the Gemini missions because the ink moves through tiny fibers instead of relying on gravity. It works in zero gravity. Over sixty years later, barely anything about the design has changed. Twenty-two billion sold worldwide.
